Deliverance Study Path
This path is for anyone who wants to understand deliverance as the Bible presents it, not as a cultural phenomenon or a technique, but as a dimension of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It moves through the essential foundations in sequence, beginning with the person and work of Christ and ending with the ongoing life of the Spirit. Do not rush through these steps. Each one builds on the one before it. Keep your Bible open throughout.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.
Luke 4:18 (KJV)

Study Steps
Deliverance is not a method. It is a consequence of the gospel. Jesus Christ died for sins, was buried, and rose again. At the cross he cancelled the record of our sin, disarmed the powers that held us captive, and made us new creations. Every aspect of deliverance flows from what happened there. If this foundation is not settled, no other step will hold. Read these passages and understand clearly what Christ accomplished and why it is the starting point for everything else.
Reflection
Have you genuinely trusted in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, or have you been engaging in spiritual warfare and deliverance practices without first being in right relationship with God through Christ? What does the gospel mean to you personally?
Prayer
Father, I begin with Jesus Christ, who died for sins and rose from the dead. Thank You for forgiveness, reconciliation, and new life in Him. Keep the gospel at the center of everything that follows in this study, and guard me from treating deliverance as a technique or as a substitute for ordinary discipleship. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
